Billing Information

Following are some guidelines pertaining to meter readings and bill payments.  At the beginning of each month you will receive your electric statement.  Please record your meter reading on the stub and return it to the Cooperative no later than the 20th of each month with your payment.  It should be noted that the Cooperative is in the process of installing an automated meter reading (AMR) system and eventually members will not need to provide meter readings. Nonetheless, the system is not fully installed and therefore members will need to provide meter readings as long as the billing statement indicates that a meter reading is needed. 

A finance charge of 1½% is added to the statement if the electric bill is not paid by the 20th of each month. If a meter reading is not submitted, the Cooperative can estimate the bill. However, if one billing period has passed and a meter reading still has not been submitted, the Cooperative will read the meter and assess a meter reading fee on the account. It should be noted that meter readings can be provided by telephone 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In the event that a payment is not received by the disconnection date printed on the electric statement, a cooperative employee will attempt to collect the amount due or disconnect the service. If a collection/disconnection trip is necessary, the Cooperative will assess the appropriate fees.
