Osceola Electric Cooperative (OEC) is dedicated to exceed members' and customers' expectations for safe, reliable, efficient service while being environmental responsible.

We are pleased that you have chosen the service area of OEC for your new home or business.  Our goal is to make the process of obtaining your new electric service as easy as 1-2-3.  The following guide will help ensure there are no unnecessary delays.

Step 1:  Contact our Operations Department at 712.754.2519 or toll free at 1.888.754.2519.   OEC's Operation Department will need a brief description of your new service location, a cell phone and/or daytime telephone number so we can contact you to schedule an appointment to meet with you at the site.

Step 2:  Our Operation Department will schedule an appointment with you to determine your site location and desired service route.  OEC will provide a quote for line extension and any other costs associated with building your electric service.

  • OEC provides a 300-foot overhead line extension for new residential construction.
  • Costs for additional line in excess of the 300-foot extension are the responsibility of the member.
  • For low-use service, costs for line extensions are the responsibility of the member and a deposit must be paid in advance.

Once all the forms are completed and signed, the appropriate fees are paid, and permits are approved, your new service can proceed.

Step 3:  Your electric service will be scheduled as soon as possible.  Construction time will vary with our current work load and weather conditions.

If you have any questions, you may contact us toll free at 1.888.754.2519.
